NC House Bill 636
Synopsis: Requires school systems to create a committee that reviews all library materials for illicit content, and reject all media that contains illicit content. Parents and residents in the school district can sue the school for failure to adequately screen library media for illicit materials.
I think that it's awful that things have come to this, when the state has to step in to keep grade schools from allowing pornography and sexual content in their libraries. The subject of sex should NOT be taught to a child unless it is by their parents or guardians when the aforementioned adults decide their child is ready to know about it.
I know that I would be absolutely furious if my child could read, watch, and learn sexual content in school.
This could have been fixed by engaged parents running for school board seats. In fact, parents and adults who don't want children accessing pornographic materials SHOULD run for school boards! You don't have to have a kid to run!
